Our audit found that NIST sufficiently assessed whether applicants met eligibility requirements. We also identified potential risks: (1) nearly all announced funding was awarded in 10 weeks, (2) CPO allowed three companies to use equipment from Chinese suppliers, and (3) four companies submitted letters of support with similar language. We will continue to monitor these risks in future audits. |
